The king of New York pacing sires American Ideal added yet another 2-year-old World Champion to his long list of accomplishments when his daughter Youyaremycandygirl won her division of the $198,000 International Stallion Stakes at the Red Mile on Saturday in 1:50 flat. Bred by Seth Rosenfeld’s Birman Woods Farm, the striking filly from the Somebeachsomewhere mare Sweet Lady Jane was purchased at the Harrisburg Yearling Sale last fall for $150,000 by her owner Bill Donovan.

Already in her young career the Ron Burke trainee has more than doubled that purchase price, with $300,000 in earnings and three New York Sire Stakes wins, followed by a commanding, gate-to-wire victory in the recent $500,000 She’s A Great Lady at Mohawk.

She’s tops among her sire’s current year 2-year-olds, which is another outstanding group that includes a trio of marquee New York Sire Stakes winners: undefeated Hitman Hill p,2,1:50.4 ($146,533), Casual Cool p,2,1:52.2 ($137,538) and Alexis Faith p,2,1:53.1f ($116,310).

American Ideal had a pair of $150,000-plus yearlings that sold last week in Lexington, but by far his largest and strongest group is still on the way, as 53 will sell at Harrisburg, Nov. 6-8. (See Roster-Pedigrees-Videos)
