Artiscape’s top 2-year-old son Escape The News p,2,1:50.3 ($171,222) won his elimination in 1:51.3 and now heads to next Sunday’s $510,000 Governor’s Cup Final at Harrah’s Chester.

The Brittany-bred colt, a multiple stakes winner and Breeders Crown finalist this year, joins other elim winners A Rocknroll Dance and Speed Again in the rich final.

Escape The News started his stakes winning streak by capturing a New York Sire Stakes at Yonkers. He followed that with a second and then first in the Bluegrass and International Stallion Stakes over the two weeks of The Red Mile’s Grand Circuit meet.

Brittany Stallion Management’s “millionaire-maker” Artiscape, the sire of Escape The News, is having another sensational year in 2011, as he is also the sire of the multiple stakes winning 2-year-olds Shelliscape p,2,1:52 ($233,096), Glass Prince p,2,1:55.1 ($111,279) and Union Man Hanover p,2,1:54.3h ($102,713).

In all, Artiscape has sired 23 2-year-olds that have won in 2:00 or faster this year, and four in 1:55, with many of those New York-eligible youngsters taking their marks over that state’s half-mile tracks.

Artiscape offers a winning combination for both breeders and yearling buyers. He sires early speed, he sires winners in the NYSS and open stakes, and he produces the soundness that helps horses go on to money-making careers as older performers.

Artiscape stands at Winbak Farm in New York for a fee of $5,000. At the Harrisburg sale this week, 20 of his yearlings will be sold. For a look at the roster of those yearlings, click here.
