In the first race at The Meadows on July 25, the Arden Downs Stakes record was lowered to 1:57.1. Then in the second race, it was lowered again to 1:57. But eventually it was grounded for good in the eighth race, when Glidemaster's undefeated 2-year-old daughter Maven won in a sparkling 1:56.1. Watch video

Leaving from post four, Yannick Gingras marched the speedy filly straight to the front, led comfortably by four lengths at the three-quarters, and coasted home to win by 7 1/4 lengths as the odds-on race favorite.

Her victory in the $120,000 (div.) Arden Downs was her third straight and follows other open-lengths scores in the Tompkins-Geers Stakes at Tioga and in the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at The Meadows, where she established an early season's record.

The daughter of Glidemaster-M Stewart, bred by All La Nuova Sbarra and a $37,000 Lexington Selected yearling, is owned by Bill Donovan and trained by Jonas Czernyson.

She's from the second crop of World Champion, Triple Crown winner and "Horse of the Year" Glidemaster, also the sire of Canadian Champion and classics winner Blue Porsche 2,1:54.1; 3,1:54 ($607,198). Glidemaster, whose third yearling crop will be a highlight of the fall sales, stands at Walnridge Farm in Pennsylvania. Click here to view his stallion page here on the website.
