Foals from Master Glide’s first full crop are now 2-year-olds, and they’re off and winning in the Kentucky Sire Stakes as they make their way to the program’s $250,000 finals next week at The Red Mile.
The Master Glide freshman colt Louie The Fourth 2,1:58 has now captured both legs of the KYSS, winning on Aug. 21 in 2:00.4 then back on Sept. 1 in a career best 1:58. The homebred owned by Dale Leu and trainer Jim Mulinix won going away by 2 1/2 lengths, cruising home with a final quarter of :28.4. (Watch video)
In the filly splits, Sunshine Glide made herself eligible for the rich final in style, as she scored in her elim in a lifetime best 1:58.4. (Watch video) The filly is owned by her breeder John Carver and is trained by Tony Alagna.
Best wishes to the connections of both in the KYSS Finals on Sept. 11.
