Divulge p,2,1:51.3 ($50,132), from the first crop of Canadian “Horse of the Year” and U.S. “Pacer of the Year” Tell All, was the top-selling 3-year-old--and second highest-priced horse overall--at the Tattersalls January Select Mixed Sale, held on Jan. 16 at the Meadowlands. The sophomore colt, consigned by Northwood Bloodstock as agent, brought a final bid of $160,000 from Daryl Bier, with the underbidder John Cancelliere.

“I got to $150,000 and figured what’s another $10,000?” Bier said. “When you buy a horse like this it’s not a guessing game. This horse has already proven himself as a racehorse…I was looking for a horse that can make anywhere from $150,000 to $300,000 over the course of the year. It looks like he can do that, and he has a lot of promise.”

Divulge, bred, raised and sold as a yearling by Brittany Farms, showed his promise very early on, winning a pair of baby races at the Meadowlands. After being stakes placed in the Lou Babic at Freehold, he went on to win late closers in back-to-back weeks in Lexington, and finished just behind Heston Blue Chip in the Matron in mid-November at Dover.

Divulge's sire, Tell All, moved to Ontario in 2011, which signals that the best could still lie ahead for this champion pacer and promising stallion, as he made much of his fame in Canada--like winning the $1.5-million North America Cup there.

He has already sired 2-year-olds that have shown the ability to move forward in 2012, as his first crop is led by the previously mentioned Divulge p,2,1:51.3, Social Network p,2,1:52.4f and All Stienam p,2,1:54.2f.
