10 . 11 . 2009

Real Desire’s top 2-year-old of 2009, High Def Z Tam p,2,1:52.3 ($248,764), made quick work of the Kentucky Sire Stakes and just added to his resume with an impressive win in the $356,000 (div.) International Stallion Stakes at The Red Mile.

High Def Z Tam, owned by Z Tam Racing and Pat Lachance and trained by Rich Ringler, won all three legs plus the $300,000 final of the Kentucky Sire Stakes, then added a win in the John Simpson Memorial before his score in the Grand Circuit event. His seasonal earnings now approach $300,000.

Also at The Red Mile, the Real Desire filly Like A Realist p,2,1:52.4 notched her fifth and sixth wins of her young career by scoring in back-to-back Grand Circuit Late Closers. She is owned by trainer Steve Carter in partnership with Robert Reid and Chuck Grubbs.

Real Desire, a World Champion racehorse and now a Champion sire, was last year’s #1 sire of 1:53 2-year-old pacers. He has followed that record performance by posting eight 1:55 freshman pacers this season, four of those in 1:53 or faster. Be sure to take a long look at his first crop of Pennsylvania-eligible yearlings that will be selling at Harrisburg!
