UPDATE! Since this story was posted, Four Starzzz Shark's RIVER SHARK p,4,1:50.3 ($368,837) won the $40,000 second leg of the Aquarius Series at the Meadowlands, gate to wire in 1:50.3. He now goes postward in the $84,000 est. final this Saturday.


Percentage-wise, Brittany Stallion Management’s Four Starzzz Shark. had a better crop of 2009 2-year-olds than any other Pennsylvania pacing sire.

In fact, he had a faster freshman crop--from percentage of foals--than any pacing sire in North America, as he ranked as last season’s leading percentage sire of both 1:53 and 1:55 2-year-olds!

From just 68 foals of 2007 he produced four 2-year-olds of 2009 that took marks of 1:53 or faster, and 11 with records of 1:55 or less. Almost a full one-third of his freshmen starters took a mark of 1:55 or faster, and those speedy youngsters included not only major stakes winners, but colts and fillies that set North American season’s, stakes and track records throughout the year.
