Another big weekend for Brittany at the Meadowlands
2 . 21 . 2010

Following Brittany-bred millionaire Chancey Lady’s win in the $80,000 Cape & Cutter Final on Feb. 19 (click here for story), Four Starzzz Shark’s River Shark p,4,1:50.3 ($408,837) took home the trophy in the $80,000 Aquarius Final for 4-year-old pacers the following night.

River Shark, a sub-1:53 stakes winner at 2 and a stakes and $300,000-plus winner at 3, has now bankrolled over $400k after winning the previous week’s leg and now the final of the Aquarius. With his regular driver Daniel Dube in the sulky, he paced final quarters in :26.3, :26.4 and :26.3 in the three legs of the series and set a career record in leg two, which he equalled in the final.

River Shark was bred by Steve Stewart and Myron Bell. He is owned El Lobo LLC, Aaron Waxman and VIP Internet Stable and trained by Carmine Fusco. Brittany congratulates them all, and wishes them the best of luck as they move toward the bigger stakes this summer.

And another “Shark” sighting in the Hopeful

Four Starzzz Shark’s 3-year-old son Unicorn Hanover p,3,1:57.3 was one of driver Jason Bartlett’s six winners at Yonkers on Feb. 20, as he captured his division of the $50,000 Hopeful Series opening leg. He is owned by Ed Mullinax and trained by Mark Ford. Best wishes to them as well as the series continues!
