Real Desire: The early speed sensation!
3 . 9 . 2010

Brittany Stallion Management’s Real Desire ranked as harness racing’s #1 sire of 1:53 2-year-old pacers in 2008, from percentage of foals. That crop included World Champion Sheer Desire p,2,1:49.3, Carnivore p,2,1:50.3 and no less than seven other 2-year-olds that took race records of 1:53 or faster.

He came right back in 2009 to rank among the North American early speed leaders again, with a freshman crop that was led by much-heralded High Def Z Tam p,2,1:52.3, who earned almost $250,000 last season winning all three legs plus the $300,000 Championship of the Kentucky Sire Stakes, a division of the $356,000 International Stallion Stakes and John Simpson Memorial.

Real Desire moved from Kentucky to Pennsylvania with the start of the 2007 breeding season. Standing in the Keystone state, with his foals eligible to one of the richest sire stakes programs in North America, he bred books of 130, 153, and 155 mares over the past three seasons. Those Pennsylvania-eligible foals made their debuts at the 2009 select yearling sales, and sold for up to $125,000.

When you consider moving that early speed Real Desire throws into the rich Pennsylvania program, you get a glimpse of the promise that lies ahead for even greater success.
