Hambletonian FavoritesTwo of the likely favorites for the 2018 edition of the $1,000,000 Hambletonian—last Saturday’s Stanley Dancer Memorial sweepers Six Pack 2,1:55.4f; 3,1:50 ($557,840) and Wolfgang 2,1:54.2; 3,1:51.2 ($516,690)—are both strongly connected to Brittany Farms.

World Champion Six Pack, by Muscle Mass-Pleasing Lady, was bred and raised by Brittany Farms and sold as a yearling at the 2016 Lexington Selected Sale.

Wolfgang, by My MVP-Summer Savory, was bred by Brittany manager Art Zubrod and his wife Leah Cheverie’s Fair Island Farm, raised at Brittany, and was sold in the farm’s agent consignment at the same sale.

Then there’s Brittany bred/raised/sold Manchego 2,1:52.4; 3,1:52.4f ($961,170), last year’s 2-year-old filly champion who has yet to decide if she’s facing the boys in the Hambo or heading to the Hambletonian Oaks. After cutting the entire mile, she lost by just a nose in her Delvin Miller Memorial division last Saturday to Plunge Blue Chip in her 1:49.4 world record performance.

It’s perhaps the most exciting time of year in harness racing, and Brittany wishes the very best on the road ahead to the connections of these outstanding trotters. We hope to enjoy the privilege of sharing your success on Hambletonian Day!

Brittany Farms is no stranger to Hambletonian Day victories, as the farm has bred the winners of three Hambletonians and four Hambletonian Oaks. To see what’s in the pipeline for classic races in the years ahead, click here to see our 2018 yearlings and their live, TrackIT pedigrees.
