WolfgangThe classics-winning son of Cantab Hall My MVP 2,1:56.1; 3,1:52 ($879,804), a proven sire with a leading Grand Circuit stakes winner already under his belt, has moved to Ontario for the 2019 season, where he will stand at Winbak Farm at a fee of $4,000 Cdn.

The shift comes after the young sire proved his ability in Ohio. His first crop (3YOs of 2018) made him the Buckeye state’s #1 sire in average earnings per starter and in percentage of 1:55 performers, and placed him squarely among the North American leaders as well, alongside the great Muscle Hill.

My MVP has sired 15 stakes-winning or stakes-placed 2018 3-year-olds from a small first crop of 25 starters. His performers are led by Goodtimes and Stanley Dancer Memorial winner Wolfgang 3,1:51.2 ($578,560), along with Ohio stakes standouts Rising MVP 3,1:54.4h ($181,762), Spunky Bottom Girl 3,1:54.2h ($167,725), Non Smoker 3,1:54f ($111,138) and Bugs MVP 3,1:58.3f ($107,365).

Brittany Farms is a major shareholder in My MVP, and the farm's manager Art Zubrod said how the horse’s pedigree fits into the Ontario market, and the big-striding types of trotters he throws, were major decisions in making the move.

“Muscle Hill, Cantab Hall and Chapter Seven are the hottest trotting sires in the book right now,” Zubrod said. “I think Ontario breeders will welcome a top Cantab Hall, especially one with proven success and a reasonable stud fee.

“He sires clean-gaited, big-going horses. Most have a lot of size, scope and length, and I think they’ll really show their speed when they race over the seven-eighths at Mohawk.”
