American Ideal’s top 3-year-old son Heston Blue Chip p,2,1:50.4f; 3,1:48f ($1,405,658) capped off a championship season with a victory in the $176,663 Matron Stakes Final at Dover Downs Sunday. He won the race by pacing the fastest mile in Dover history—1:48 flat—just 1/5 second off the world record.   [read more]

Real Desire’s move to Indiana for the 2011 breeding season was cheered by breeders in the Hoosier State, but not so much by those in Pennsylvania. Real Desire stood in Pennsylvania since 2007 and ranked among the state’s leading speed and money-winning sires there year after year. Timed in 1:48.3 in her last start, with a :26.3 last quarter, she still couldn’t get past another American Ideal lass, American Jewel, in the Fan Hanover Final. American Ideal added to his list of siring achievements when his 3-year-old Ideal Scott captured the Group 1, $250,000 Northern Derby at Alexandra Park in New Zealand on March 9. The son of American Ideal-Tuapeka Wings (by Falcon Seelster) has now earned over $434,000 (NZD) and sports a slate of 7-3-2 in 15 career starts.   [read more]
