‘Strongest Ever’ Roster Now Available

June 30, 2023

The roster of yearlings that will be offered by Brittany Farms and Brittany Farms and Partners at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale this fall are now available by clicking here or on the “Yearlings” tab above.

The roster may be sorted by gait and sex. “Live” TrackIT pedigrees for each horse is available by clicking on its name. Videos will be added later in the summer.

All of the yearlings are “dual eligible,” meaning they are eligible to the rich Kentucky Sire Stakes program and to the sire stakes program in the state or province in which their sire stands.

“This is, across the board, the strongest group of yearlings the farm has ever offered,” said manager Art Zubrod, “and that’s no exaggeration. They’re all outstanding in the conformation department, and the pedigrees speak for themselves.”

The Brittany shedrow at Fasig-Tipton will be filled with 20 individuals, and this year the farm is strong on pacers, with no less than 15 slated to step into the auction ring.

That pacing contingent is led by four yearlings from the first crops of Hanover’s dynamic duo of Tall Dark Stranger (Bettor’s Delight) and Papi Rob Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere).

The three by Tall Dark Stranger are all first foals of their dams, from families teeming with early speed. Included is the first foal (a colt) from Breeders Crown 2YO Filly Pace winner Reflect With Me p,3,1:48.2 ($782,268) and a pair from 2-year-old stakes winners Making Waves p,2,1:50.1 ($141,665) and Lady Midnight p,2,1:51.4 ($71,395).

Others include an Always B Miki filly from the immediate family of 2-year-old Dan Patch Champion and this year’s top-ranked 3YO pacing filly, Sylvia Hanover; a Bettor’s Wish filly from a Captaintreacherous daughter of millionaire Romantic Moment; and a Captaintreacherous brother-in-blood to last term’s outstanding 2-year-old colt Combustion p,2,1:49.3 ($298,525).

A trio by Walner top an extremely select group of trotting yearlings: a three-quarter brother to last year’s Bluegrass and International Stallion Stakes winner Espresso 2, 1:53.3 ($299,093) and half-sisters to 2022 2YO stakes winners Yes Please 2,1:53.4 ($151,754) and Novel 2,1:55.4.

As owners and trainers evaluate yearlings, it’s always a good idea to be guided by not only the horses themselves, but by the track record of their breeder. With Brittany, you’re buying from a farm that ranks no. 1 in the world in Breeders Crown champions, percentage of millionaires from foals bred, and in average earnings per starter.

And you just can’t find anything better than that.
