25 Breeders Crown Champions for Brittany

October 27, 2019

Brittany Farms has now bred 25 Breeders Crown champions, with Brittany bred, raised and sold Reflect With Me, Manchego and American History all capturing 2019 Breeders Crown titles last weekend at Woodbine-Mohawk.

Brittany ranks second to only Hanover Shoe Farms (26) in number of Crown wins, and is far and away the leader in percentage of champions from number of foals bred.

The farm nearly cashed with four winners, as the year’s top-ranked 3-year-old pacing colt Bettor’s Wish just missed by a head and finished second in his final.

Friday night’s $600,000 2YO Filly Pace Final started the big weekend, as Reflect With Me p,2,1:50.3 ($476,754), by Captaintreacherous-Remember When, scored in a career best-equaling 1:50.3. (Watch race)

The Brad Grant-Brittany Farms owned filly, trained by Tony Alagna, has never finished off the board in 11 stakes starts and sports wins in the Eternal Camnation and Champlain and placings in the She’s A Great Lady and International Stallion Stakes.

The fastest trotting female in harness racing history, Manchego 4,1:49 ($2,025,118), raised her earnings to more than $2-million with her victory in the $325,000 Filly & Mare Trot Saturday night and now becomes a two-time Breeders Crown Champion, having also won the championship at 2. The Muscle Hill-Secret Magic mare has been on a late-season tear, with her stakes record 1:51 win in the Crown her fifth score in a row for owner Black Horse Racing and trainer Nancy Johansson.  She will make her way to our website’s Hall of Fame page in the very near future.

Rounding out the trifecta of Brittany-bred Breeders Crown Champions was $500,000 Open Pace upsetter American History p,3,1:47 ($1,040,945), who became the 40th millionaire bred by Brittany Farms with the $250,000 purse checked he picked up for his owners after he crossed the wire. (Watch race)

The stakes winner at 2, 3 and 4 by American Ideal-Perfect Touch is owned by the partnership of Marvin Katz, American History Racing and Brittany Farms and is trained by Tony Alagna.

Brittany congratulates the connections of all!
