American Ideal is at it again

July 26, 2018

American Ideal, the pacing sire who “never has a down year,” is at it again in 2018. He has sired the winners of more than $6.7-million though July 25 and leads all New York Sire Stakes pacing sires by more than a 2 to 1 margin in earnings over his closest competitor.

His current 3-year-old stakes stars include the pair who swept the elims for this Saturday’s $400,000 Adios, season’s record-setter American History p,3,1:47 ($132,261) and Hitman Hill p,3,1:49.3f ($274,903). Blue Chip Farms in New York, the place American Ideal calls home, bred both horses.

Fillies among his group of sophomore pacers include last year’s “2-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year” Youaremycandygirl p,2,1:50 ($1,045,508), who just missed in the $300,000 James Lynch Final, and three-time 2018 NYSS winner Pueblo Blue Chip p,3,1:52.2 ($155,226).

Youaremycandygirl, incidentally, recently became the 12th millionaire sired by American Ideal.

His freshman crop, always dominant in the NYSS and beyond, is on its way to another stellar season, led by the brilliantly fast NYSS-winning filly St Somewhere p,2,1:52.2f ($87,883) and NYSS winners Jack Nation p,2,1:57h and Meghan Lynn p,2,1:58.2f.

As the open stakes season ramps up in late summer and fall, expect to see many more by this amazing sire making names for themselves at major tracks in both the U.S. and Canada.

If you’d like to join in this run of success, the best way to do so is by purchasing a yearling colt or filly by American Ideal at any of the upcoming sales. He’s at it again… and it’s expected that he will be for years to come!
