American Ideals Take 2/4 NYSS Finals

September 12, 2021

Brittany Stallion Management’s American Ideal continues to dominate the New York program, as he sired two of the four winners of the $200,000 New York Sire Stakes Pacing Finals last Friday at Yonkers Raceway.

His sensational 2-year-old daughter Gotthegreenlight p,2,1:51.2 ($208,433) took her sixth victory in seven career starts with a handy score in the freshman filly pace championship, where she bested favored Just Divine in 1:54.1.

The daughter of American Ideal-Bet On Luck, bred by Dr. Steve Dey’s family-owned Heritage Hill Farm, is owned by Patricia Stable and Kovach Stables and trained by Nifty Norman. Her previous wins include two legs of the NYSS, the Kindergarten Series, and the NJ Home Grown Stakes.

She was purchased for $40,000 last fall at the Standardbred sale held in Timonium.

Four races later on the New York “Night Of Champions” card, I’ll Drink To That p,3,1:50.2f ($329,489), the Winbak Farm-bred son of American Ideal-Margarita Monday, captured the 3-Year-Old Colt Pace Final in wire-to-wire fashion in 1:51.3.

The sophomore colt is at the top of his game, as his win in the final followed a 1:50.2 score two weeks earlier in the $104,000 Empire Breeders Classic at Tioga Downs.

His ownership group consists of Craig Henderson, Lawrence Minowitz, Robert Mondillo and Oompa’s Farm. The colt is trained by Chris Ryder.

I’ll Drink To That was a $75,000 yearling buy at the 2019 Lexington Selected Sale.

Those looking for future New York pacing champions need look no further than the upcoming fall yearling sales. American Ideal — who can get you a world-class millionaire along with a New York star — has 37 yearlings on offer at the Oct. 5-9 Lexington Selected Sale and 35 more on tap Nov. 8-10 at Harrisburg.
