Baby Boom On Its Way

February 17, 2023

The 2023 foaling season has started at Brittany Farms, as under the watchful eyes of our veteran crew the stars of tomorrow are born to what is perhaps the most select broodmare band in all of harness racing. First out: a royally-bred filly by Walner, born on Jan. 26

That Walner filly is a half-sister to the speedy stakes winner Looks Like Moni 3, 1:51.4 ($254,767) and a daughter of Thats All Moni 3,1:52.1 ($501,642) — a multiple 2 and 3-year-old stakes winner and classics-placed trotter who is a half-sister to former World Champion and one of the all-time great 2-year-olds, Snow White.

She is also a half-sister to the Muscle Hill colt Diplomacy, who was among the top-priced trotting colts at last fall’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, at $425,000.

As the number of mares owned by Brittany in full or in partnerships begins to decrease over the next several years, horses like this filly are those the farm will continue to produce for the marketplace — the very best of the best.

You’re invited to come visit the farm's "maternity floor" by keeping an eye on the foals page here on the website, as the farm’s new arrivals are posted as soon as they are born. After each is registered, its pedigree will be added.

The majority of these will be sold as yearlings in the 2024 Brittany Farms consignment at the Lexington Selected Sale. Until then, they’ll receive the best of care and grow strong and athletic in the most fertile and beautiful pastureland you’ll find in the Kentucky Bluegrass region.
