Brittany-Bred 2YOs: Early Achievers!

June 27, 2022

Last year a Lexington Selected Sale yearling; this year, a 2-year-old winner on the racetrack! That’s the way it’s been for 2022 2-year-olds bred by Brittany Farms, as the farm has already sent out nine freshman winners through June 26.

Leading the brigade are a trio of early stakes winners in Twin B Joe Fresh, Hungry For Love and Espresso.

Twin B Joe Fresh p,2,1:52.2 (Roll With Joe-Fresh Breeze) took home honors in the first freshman stake at the Meadowlands, the $47,975 Geers 2YO Filly Pace. (Watch Race) She was bred by Brittany Farms, but was sold as a yearling by Twinbrook Farms at Harrisburg last fall after her dam changed hands.

Brittany-breds Hungry For Love p,2,1:54.2f (Stay Hungry-Lover Of Art) and Espresso p,2,1:57.4f (Chapter Seven-Biscotti) won their $25,000 Oak Grove Sire Stakes divisions on June 26 in their record times. While Hungry For Love's dam was sold in foal, Espresso was sold as a Lexington Selected yearling by Brittany for $45,000.

Another Oak Grove winner was Sandcastle p,2,1:56.3f (Artspeak-Nikki Beach), winner of a Kentucky Proud division on June 12.

Five others have won baby races at the Meadowlands, Pocono, Gaitway or Magical Acres:

Bankers Luck p,2,1:52.2 (He’s Watching-Cash Reward)
Diamondsnpearls p,2,1:55.3 (Captaintreacherous-Cashaway)
She’s A Lady p,2,1:57.1f (Captaintreacherous-My Lady Love)
American Wisdom p,2,1:58f (American Ideal-Tori Hanover)
Novel 2,2:00.2 (Father Patrick-Anywhere With You)

Brittany congratulates the connections of these horse and wishes them — and the many others waiting in the wings — continued success as the racing season marches on.
