Record-setting sale for Brittany Farms

October 11, 2021

The just completed 2021 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale was an all-time record-setter for the sales company — and for Brittany Farms as well! Brittany sold the sale-topping pacing yearling and ranked third among all consignors in sale average.

Brittany thanks all those who inspected, bid on and purchased the yearlings; and of course buyers are wished the best of success as these horse embark on their racing careers.

Leading the way among the farm’s yearlings was Hip No. 20 Seashell (Pedigree | Video), the beautiful Captaintreacherous full sister to millionaire Blue Diamond Eyes, who fetched $450,000 on a final bid from leading trainer Tony Alagna.

Three other yearlings sold for $250,000 and higher — Captaintreacherous half-brothers to Pebble Beach and Heart Of Mine and the Bettor’s Delight filly first foal from a sister to the great American Jewel.

In all, Brittany’s 24 head sold in Lexington grossed $2.8-million, included 10 that sold for $100,000 or more and averaged $115,542, ranking the farm third in overall sale average.

As a back-to-back recipient of harness racing’s “Breeder of the Year” award — and the leading farm in average earnings per starter for the past three years — Brittany is more focused than ever in delivering a racing product that is among the best one will find anywhere. The farm’s 2021 yearling consignment is proof of that effort.
