Perfect Sting Buzzes ‘Em In BC Elim

October 24, 2021

Brittany-bred Perfect Sting p,3,1:48.1 ($1,508,147) won his elim for the Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Colt Pace Saturday afternoon in handy fashion, adding his name to the list of four horses bred by Brittany that will make their way to the Crown finals next weekend at the Meadowlands.

Perfect Sting was the undefeated 2-year-old Dan Patch Champion of 2020... and he’s never looked better than he did Saturday. The Joe Holloway trainee made the front prior to the half and cruised through the mile effortlessly en route to a 3-length score, with a final quarter of :26.4.

The win was the 16th of his career and boosted his single-season earnings for this year ever closer to a million dollars. He’ll once again face off against the best in his division next Saturday as he tries to duplicate his 2-year-old Breeders Crown success.

After elim victories by Brittany-bred freshman pacers Pebble Beach and Queen Of Success on Friday, the farm will send four on to the finals, as the Brittany-bred, recently turned millionaire Blue Diamond Eyes finished third in the 3YO Filly Pace elim to also move on. Brittany Farms is the sport’s co-leading breeder of Breeders Crown champions, with a current tally of 27. It hopes to add to that total next weekend, and wishes success to the connections of all the Brittany-bred finalists.
